Brett 'The Boss' Stevens, in his Jack Daniels Racing burn out car, featured at Ironbark Raceway's major meeting on 14 August, 2004.
The drags attracted 51 competitors from as far away as Brisbane, Clermont, Tara, Gladstone, Biloela, Maryborough and Cessnock in NSW and included ten Screaming Eagles and four Pro Gas Harleys. Additional motor bike brackets were added to the program at the request of enthusiasts.
In addition to the standard program, Ironbark Raceway introduced a supercharged outlaw bracket which kept the crowd of 1500 entertained throughout the day.
Qualifying racing kicked off at 8.00 a.m. Saturday morning. Windy and dusty conditions made the track slippery however as the day progressed the traction improved with the assistance of Willowbank Raceway's chief track crew member, Mr. Rob Hunter, preparing the freshly laid startline.
Official racing kicked off with Brett Stevens performing one of his burnout passes with president of SWDRA Geoff Moore strapped in the passenger seat.
All rounds of racing were closely contested in between Brett Stevens match racing two of the day's competitors with Brett receiving large handicaps giving the opponents a generous head start. One of these passes resulted in Ironbark Raceway's track record being broken. The new track record now stands at 5.09 seconds at 158 MPH.
The day wound up with the lucky winner of the burnout car passenger ride entertaining the crowd. Brett Stevens did a doughnut burnout spectacular much to the delight of the crowd.
Sponsors for the day included South West Pumps and Solar, Mohr's Garage, CF Performance and ProFab Custom Engineering. Kimlin's Camping World Perfect Light of 0.400 with $300.00 prize money still stands.
