2008 Ironbark Raceway Track Championship
Round 6, 9 November, 2008

The finals, round 6, of the 2008 Ironbark Raceway Track Championship was supposed to be run on November 8. Strong winds and rain made the racing dangerous however and caused the meeting to be postponed to Sunday the ninth.

Street saw Stuart Dingwall move from second in the points to first with a win in the last round. In Super Sedan, Peter Wilson secured the points championship with a win and moved from third to first. Sonya Johnson wrapped up the Bike championship with a final round win. Other bracket winners on the day were Lionel Bowden in Modified and Tori Johnson in Junior Dragster.

The overall Track Championship was to be contested by the Bracket Champions. The Track Champion was to be determined by whoever ran the closest to their dial in, without breaking out, on a solo pass. The winners of the bracket championships were given a chance to check their dial in before the run offs, to determine the Overall Track Champion. Chris van'tHof, the Modified Champion, was the best here, recording a superb 5.803 on a 5.8 dial in. Sonya Johnson, the Bike Champion, elected not to make a pass, having just won her bracket.

In the Track Championship run offs, Stuart Dingwall was first up. He recorded a 9.807 on a 9.49 to be .317 over. Next up was Sonya Johnson. She took the lead with a 8.493 on a 8.4 to be .093 over. Super Sedan's Peter Wilson was next. He broke out with a 7.890 on a 7.91 to be .02 under. Last to run was Chris van'tHof. Could he repeat his checkout pass effort to take the win. A 5.719 on a 5.8 meant that he broke out by .051 and Sonya Johnson was the Ironbark Raceway Track Champion for 2008. Congratulations to Sonya, all the other bracket champions and the days bracket winners.
