Well, we might have struggled for numbers early in the week and with real prospects that the meeting could've been called off. Fortunately by week's end good nominations flooded in seeing the most popular classes having good numbers to see a very successful final meeting of the year. Once again a big thank you to all the wonderful volunteers and also to those racers that travelled considerable distances to compete in Ironbark Raceway's final meeting for the 2023 calendar. Burnouts,4x4, Street and Fast Street dominated the event with good nominations in all classes.

Probably the most anticipated event was the Ironbark Raceway 2023 Track Champion shootout where we saw seven contenders vying for the prestigious award. Josh Mohr in Quick Et, Mick Tattam in Fast Street, Byron Hafemeister in Street, Thomas Pascoe in 4x4, Steve Dillon in Bikes, James Schofield in Junior Bikes and Brodie Ferguson in Young Guns. What a close affair it was with Thomas Pascoe edging out St George competitor Mick Tattam by two hundredths of a second to take the honors. Well done Thomas!

In the Burnout competition we didn't see the usual carnage with all competitors completing all four rounds and coming through unscathed. Runner up was Lane Moore and winner was local youngster Health Waugh.

Best Reaction time of this event went to Ray Dennis with a time of 0.003.

In the Bikes class Thomas Gibbs was unlucky to have a red light earning him the Runner Up and Harley Macdonald the winner.

In The 4x4 class we didn't see the Williamson siblings but Darcy Proud and Thomas Pascoe. Unfortunately for Darcy, he had a breakout giving the win to Thomas.

There was only one contestant in each of the Young Guns and Junior Bikes and the honors went to Brodie Ferguson in the Dragsters and James Schofield in the Bikes.

Ray Dennis had a good afternoon but was unlucky to red light in the finals giving the honors to young Josh Mohr in his front engine mounted dragster in the Quick ET class.

In the Fast Street class, consistent performer Damo McHugh proved to be too good taking the honors with Charleville competitor John Haddock Runner Up.

Finally in the Street class youngster Byron Hafemeister who led the points table all year was unlucky to breakout in the final race of the year to hand the prize to veteran Peter Harrison in his trusty Holden WB ute.

On the 25th of this month at 3.30pm the club will host the AGM and the annual presentation night at the track. It's sure to be a wonderful afternoon and evening, so here is your chance to get more involved in the club by becoming a committee member or even becoming an executive member. We have some executives that would like to step down as they have gone well above and beyond in their roles within the club.

I have some photos but due to a camera error I'm unable to post all the photos of the presentations on Saturday night.
