Drags and Burnouts meeting.
It was a lovely day for racing at the Taylor's Parts Track Championship round two with a reasonable line up of competitors. Fast Street, Street and the Bikes saw the most entrants and sadly only one entrant in the Quick ET class. Competitors travelled from Goondiwindi, Clermont, Moura, Boyne Island, Emerald, St George, Charleville, Millbank, Manly and Ipswich and a big thank you to the meeting sponsors Unlimited Co represented by the Charlton family from Emerald.
Also the Burnout guys had a number of entrants with two having to retire after the first round. Travis Weaver in his Commodore ran out the winner with David Wright Runner Up.
In the 4x4 class Caitlin Williamson proved too good for Luke Paynter. Caitlin makes it two wins for the past two events having won the big prize money at the May two day event.
In the Street class Marcus Donohoe made his first ever final and came away with a win after his opponent Wayne Ross unfortunately red lighted.
In the Fast Street class St George competitor Jono Ryan in his LX Torana and club President Dennis Hurle battled it out. Dennis driving the Blue Commodore was a little quick on his dial in time allowing Jono to get the win.
In the Bikes class it was a tough field but Mark Ashworth who had a couple of 118 mph passes during the day and Paul Welsh who we nearly call a local as he seems to compete at every meeting would find themselves on the start line. A really good start from both guys would see them both breakout but Mark was closest to his dial in time and claim victory.
Times.
